Camp Mahn Go Tah See
Photo LIbrary

Persons: Jerry Barnes, Homer Roberts, Ron Roberts
Locations: Camp Mahn Go Tah See Mi
Notes: Homer Robers, lower right hands a board up to Jerry Barnes while Ron Roberts (on the left) saws a board. The year was late August 1949 and the Roberts family and Jerry were the only people in camp. A polio epidemic had caused camp to be closed down with two weeks still to go.

The Roberts had rented their Redford, Michigan home out for the summer, so they had no place to stay except at the empty camp. Jerry's father, who had been a war correspondent in Europe during World War II had taken his wife to the scenes of his war-time activities, so Jerry had no place to go, and stayed with the Roberts for those last two weeks.
