- sheet 183Enwogion Sir Aberteifi — Eisteddfod Genedlaethol, 1868 A prize essay from the 1868 national eisteddfod, in Welsh. The subscribers’ list at the back includes “Apmadoc, Mr. W., Maesteg” — he was still in Wales in 1868, though the identification is not certain.

Page 45 has his Young People’s Chorus singing “A Song of Peace” written for the occasion; 460 lists him among the officers; 465 gives his address. His son W. Tudor sat on the judiciary committee at page 456.

He is listed among the adjudicators at 24 (bardic name simply “ApMadoc”), with the World’s Fair eisteddfod men at 181, named with Dr. Protheroe as one of the two Welsh contributors to American musical development at 200, and praised for his adjudication at 249.

Five of these scans carry a usable text layer and could be searched directly; the rest are page images, and for those the front matter and the back-of-book index were read by OCR, which is where a name that appears at all is normally listed. A dash means no reference has been established — not that he is absent from the volume.
